Format an SD Card
If you want to compile and install OpenCV, the SD card minimum card size is 32GB. If you want to compile and install ROS2, the SD minimum card size is 64GB.
To format an SD you will need to download the following software. (free)
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/eula_windows/index.html
Install the software and do a “quick format”

Download the image.

https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/learn/get-started-jetson-nano-devkit#write

The file is approximately 5GB, be patient while it downloads.
Unzip the image into it’s own folder.
Use 7Zip to unzip the SD card image in windows file manager from the downloads folder.
The free 7Zip software can be downloaded from the link below.
https://www.7-zip.org/download.html
Now extract the zip file as shown below.

Wait for the file to decompress….

Write image to SD card.
The nvidia site recommends using ‘Etcher’. We’ve found that Win32 Disk imager is a better program.
Download and install win32 disk imager from the link below.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/
Open Win32 disk imager. Select the correct Device. Be careful, you don’t want to erase your external drives….
Click on the ‘blue folder’ icon and select the location where you extracted the ‘image’ file.
Click ‘Write’ to write the OS image to the SD card….
